Opportunity

Williams Group is regularly invited by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to lead creative direction and design for its signature award: The Hilton Humanitarian Prize is the largest of its kind, providing $2.5 million to a nonprofit organization that has made extraordinary contributions to alleviate human suffering. Candidates are judged by a host of world leaders and luminaries, and Williams Group is honored to play a part in amplifying the good and continued work of each year’s prize recipient and a growing community of laureates. 

Approach

For each prize we support, the Wg design team digs deep to develop visual possibilities for a unique theme selected by our clients. For each option, we also carefully mind application—understanding that whatever we propose must succeed concert with the visual identities of the Foundation and its prize, while ensuring the prize recipient’s work shines above all else. We then apply the chosen look—logo lockup, fonts, color and related visual elements—to a host of communications spanning social media cards and eblasts that will circle the globe, as well as an in-depth program and slides for the award’s mainstage ceremony.

Results

In 2022, the Hilton Humanitarian Prize was presented to Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) whose work is protecting the rights of displaced people in a time of extraordinary global conflict, climate crisis and pandemic. Wg visualized the chosen theme,The Power of Perseverance, with a bold and open text expression, upheld by a firm line that signals steadfast hope, help and determination, on a field of blue that melts into the sky.
