Graphic Designer

Williams Group is currently seeking an exceptional graphic designer with passion for digital and print media who is looking to join and support a dynamic client-centered team. What you’ll do

As a graphic designer, you will work in a highly collaborative environment with fellow designers, writers, project managers and account executives. On any given day, you might be concepting a new logo, creating a strategy graphic in Illustrator, laying out a full report in InDesign, designing a website and collaborating with a developer, creating a dynamic PPT presentation for a board meeting, finessing animated web banners in Photoshop, editing a video set to music, searching for images for a campaign, implementing client feedback or assisting other designers with their daily tasks. Every project is unique in purpose and scope—requiring an analytical and creative approach to reach the best solution.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Planning and strategy
Collaboratively determining the expected outcome

  • Understanding the project intent
  • Discussing design requirements with colleagues and clients
  • Suggesting efficient production methods
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with outside vendors (e.g., fabricators, photographers, print and paper companies)

Creative concepting and execution
Creating communications that are effective and meaningful

  • Assisting in the design, development and completion (or production) of projects
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas
  • Delivering high-quality solutions (e.g., graphics, presentations, visual identities, etc.)
  • Thoughtfully presenting your work to others

Iteration and refinement
Honing high-quality solutions to satisfy internal and external client needs

  • Adapting deliverables to meet evolving requirements
  • Implementing edits and proofreading changes
  • Prepping files for production and distribution (e.g., keylining and other preflight activities, saving out assets, creating thumbnails, etc.)
  • Assuring the careful maintenance of all electronic files
  • Effectively balancing a dynamic workload, as well as time and budgetary constraints

Your qualifications

  • One to three years of related experience
  • Understanding of brand and design fundamentals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with a broad range of design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; light video editing and animation skills a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree with concentrations in design and communications or equivalent
  • Flexible schedule (able to work extended hours when needed)

Compensation

Competitive salary and bonus, with opportunity to grow through increased contribution to the success of Wg clients, commerce and culture. Initial salary is determined based on experience and ability to contribute.
